Lovely Kiss

Hello everyone!
I don't know about where you are, but over here we're about to float away! It has been raining for days, and there is no sign of it stopping any time soon...our lake is going to have to be pumped because it's about to overflow, and well, it is humid as can be around here. Hoping next week is a little better so we can go out of the house, and enjoy the park a little...all I hear every afternoon is " Mommy playground, playground!", and well, we can't go to the playground because is wet and muddy. When I say that she gets all excited and says "Muddy puddles!" lol.
I'm back today to share another one of the layouts I created with The Paper Niche's April Design Kit. Truly love the look of this one, because it's simple, yet so girly and distressed looking. Huge banners like this are my favorite thing right now, and I love the look of them on this layout.

It's a sweet moment, caught on camera by my hubby. Totally love it!

Exciting News and a Purple Hello!

Good afternoon everyone!
So super excited for two reasons, one, my Emily seems to be getting better everyday, and two, I found out that one of my YouTube videos was featured in a national/international publication!!! Super exciting because the video, before it was featured, had about a quarter of a million views, but just today I checked it, and it's gotten way past that mark, and soon enough it will reach the half a million view mark. Talk about awesome!
The funny thing about this is, that this particular video is actually one of my craziest tutorials, because at the time I made it, I did not know how to edit, I was all over the place, and really didn't pay attention to many things I do today. If I were to make that video tutorial again today, with all I know now, I would have done many things differently. Since filming that, I've come along way, and my videos seem to be a little bit more professional I think.  Considering I NEVER submit anything for publishing, even though I'd like to have a project published somewhere, sometime, I just don't have the time to do things like that right now, so it's pretty cool to have other people notice your stuff, without you even submitting it, and have them like it enough to add it on their magazine publication and tell other people to go watch it! Anyways, I don't want to ramble too much about that, but I just wanted to share my excitement with you.
Today I wanted to share a little card I made using one of my Greeting Farm Stamps that I bought, and had never used. I love The Greeting Farm images, and it seems like I keep collecting them, but I fail to start using them right away, so I told myself I had to start using them more, before I continued to collect them.
I used a Spellbinder's die for all the mats behind the image, I colored it with my Copic markers, and I did some paper piecing on her clothes.
I used Echo Park's Springtime Collection, and some purple Coredinations Cardstock. You can see the Glossy Accents I added to the sunglasses for a glossy look. I love that detail.
The sentiment Stamp is from an old American Crafts' set, and I used a Stampin up punch to cut the  piece out. I added some Want to Scrap bling and some prima flowers, and The Twinery twine in front of the card as well. On the inside, I did some layering of the paper, used the same spellbinder's die from the front, and added some bling to bring it all together. Hope you liked it, and like always, more coming soon! :)

Quick Update and an Altered Cup

Hello everyone!
Since a lot of you have been wondering, I wanted to keep you up to date with what's happening with my Emily...I also wanted to take this opportunity to share an altered cup I'd forgotten to share with you.

First things first though...Emily is doing much better...little by little it seems that she's retuning back to her old self. She's finally smiling here and there, something I missed because she truly does smile all day, all the time thank God. She is finally responding to me when I ask her questions, and she has started at least drinking a little bit. She slept through the night last night, and that's the first time in almost a week. She's still on antibiotics, has a terrible cough (her poor little chest hurts every time she coughs), terrible runny nose, and well, since she has not been eating much at all, she's barely had any bowel movements. I know she's lost a ton of weight because she just looks so skinny to me now, but I'm praying she gets some appetite soon, so she can catch up again.
Again, thank you all for all your concern, prayers and well wishes. We appreciate them very much, and are very happy to say, it's looking like we're almost at the end of this terrible time. I'm sure I grew some gray hairs with all that I've been going through lately!

Ok, now for the fun stuff. This is an altered cup I made on the Tim Holtz cruise and totally forgot to share. They sell all sorts of alterable cups out there, and using paper, rub-ons and some distress ink definitely makes them look really nice. You should definitely try one out.

Thanks so much again for all your support, and I'll catch you next time with another project :)

Sweet Sophie Sitting in the Garden

I've had quite a rough couple of days with my Emily being extremely sick, and I want to thank everyone who has emailed me, contacted me, and asked me about how she's been doing, and how I was doing through it all. I really appreciate all your support. It's amazing how you find out who really truly cares... it's in times like this when you know who your friends really are, and I'm very blessed to say, that many of you have been extremely supportive, and caring in this tough time for me. As a parent, it's extremely rough to see your child suffering, and I've never had to deal with this extent of illness coming from her, so you can just imagine my anguish... thank you all for all your advice, kind worlds, text messages, e-mails, prayers,  and well wishes...it's meant the world to me. Unfortunately, we are still not out of the woods yet, as she's still extremely ill, but I keep praying that soon this will be over.
Today I wanted to share with you this super fun card I created using the Sweet Sophie digital stamp. I sat Sophie in the middle of a garden, and I think she looks really cute, sitting among the flowers.
I used Crate Paper's Farmhouse paper collection on this card, colored her using my Copic Markers, and added tons of mulberry paper flowers, which I accented with some glitter glue. On her dress, after coloring it with my Copic Markers, I added some Diamond Dust, just to "bling" her up a bit, and I love the way she sparkles in the center of the card.
This is a step card, the first one I've ever made, and I love the 3D look of it. I added some cardstock grass pieces, which I punched out using my Fiskars' Grass punch, and I added quite a bit of flowers, just to add more dimension to the card, as well as to get a more realistic garden look, on top of the bright, flowery design papers.
I like to keep the insides of my cards pretty simple most of the time, and for this one I just layered some more of the paper inside, leaving some space to write a message.
Hope you enjoyed this card. Make sure you check out all the other sweet images at the Sweet Nothing's Stamp Co. shop, and thanks so much for stopping by the blog today!

This is Me

Hi everyone!
Today I come with a quick post because I'm super exhausted. My Emily has been really ill for the last two days, and well, my heart aches seeing her go through what she's going through. I haven't slept for two days, and neither has she, so you can imagine ....I did however have these photos ready to post so  decided to upload this project for you. It's another layout I created using the Paper Niche's Design Kit. Love the Prima background paper, but most of all the wood embellishments and Glitz rhinestones included in the kit.

I hope to be back soon with more projects, and pray that my baby gets better soon. It's killing me seeing her so sick... Hope you are having a better week than me!

Laugh Out Loud!

Hi there! Today I wanted to share a quick 2 page layout I created using The Paper Niche's April Design kit. Love all the Glitz Pretty In Pink paper included in the kit, and I used several of them on this layout.
The banner is cut out of light weight chipboard with an Accucut banner die, and I colored it using my Starburst Stains from Lindy's Stamp Gang in the colors Hottie Patottie Hot Pink and Alpine Ice Rose. I mixed them to get the perfect shimmered color I wanted for this fun banner.
I stamped the background of the dark cardstock I used with a very subtle pink color (Colorbox Pink Rose Chalk Ink), using the Kaiser Craft stamp included in the kit. I wanted subtle texture, and this stamp did just that for my background when I used very light ink with it.
I used the Tim Holtz rosette dies to make the paper rosettes you see throughout the layout also.
Some of the beautiful trim included in the kit also made it to the this layout, like that thin brown velvet trim on top of the photos, and the cream lace trim on top of the banner. The gems on top of the rosettes were also from the kit, and my favorite gem embellishment in the market so far. They are super elegant and reflect light so nicely. I'm just in love them! Talk to you again soon!

Happy Easter!

Hello everyone and Happy Easter! Today I wanted to share this cute Easter layout for the April Layout Hop hosted by Zoe (her link is at the end of the post). This layout was just perfect for today and I couldn't wait to show you. Again, my favorite color combo :)
I of course have yet to fill in the little banners with the date and her name, but sometimes, I just leave that for right before I put the layout in the album hehe. I used My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Collection again which I really really like!  (Hottie Doody), and I just LOVE this picture of my Emily! (Gosh, do I say that about every picture of her?? lol).
I also used some embellishments from one  the older My Minds Eye Lost and Found Collections, which has similar colors to their current collections, and I think everything went together perfectly.
The trim you see on the bottom, was originally white, but I used my Lindy's Stamp Gang Spays to stain them a nice color to match my layout. I love being able to customize my embellishments.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today, and here are all the links below so you can continue  hopping to the other wonderful blogs participating on the hop:

Tim Holtz Altered Printer's Tray

Yay! I'm finally able to show you my finished printer's tray. It took me long enough, considering I started it back in the beginning of October! I started this project at the Tim Holtz Cruise last fall, but ever since I got back, I never touched the thing, and well, all my supplies were everywhere making me crazy. I finally got to it and finished it all, and I'm very happy how it turned out. Completely different from what  I usually do, but just right for me too :)

I've made a video detailing all I did, what I used, as well as the meaning of everything on this tray. Everything has a meaning, and a theme. You can watch the video HERE. Thanks for stopping by!
